THE GIFT OF FINITUDE: THEOLOGY, TECHNOLOGY, AND HUMAN LIMITS

Today, many people believe that science and technology can overcome human limitations such as illness, suffering, aging, and even death. But what if these limits are not just defects to be corrected? How might human finitude instead provide the foundation for flourishing and shape our relationships with one another and with God? Drawing on Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical Magnifica Humanitas and recent Church teaching on transhumanism, this seminar will explore a positive vision of human finitude in a technological age.
